oh okay, i know i'm being rather inconsistent with what i am blogging about, so please bear with me.

As i was scanning through my archives when i viewed my published post, this word, "MG" caught my eye. So now, I will blog something about it.

"MG" holds a very special place in my heart. Though I wasn't a very popular girl back there in MG, but I too have my fair share of my own group of friends who accepted me as who i am and who are still my friends now.

There's Stephanie, i met her in a school bus, and subsequently, proceeded to be in the same class with her for 2 years, went to the same schools as her, and now we've ended up in the same uni. Then there's Desiree, who was in the same primary one class as i was, and went on to be in many same classes as her, though we went to different JCs and different unis, but we still keep in touch and we're still friends. Then there's Chiu Yen, whom I've noticed since primary school, but only came to be super good friends in Sec 3 coz we were in the same class, and went on to the same JC, but different unis, coz she's going to uni of toronto, but I have great faith and trust in our friendship that we will still keep in touch even though we are in 2 different continents, right Chiu? then there's many more, which i can't type them all down here, but they too share many wonderful chapters and friendships of their lives with me, and i wonder at the wonderful experience of making friends that will last.

Someone once told me that one does not need to have lots of friends,
you just need to have a few friends that you can trust and be friends for life.

That's only one of the things that MG has given me.

The next one is that MG has inculcated in me a love for Christian songs in worship. There's always this thing that you can't find it anywhere else but only in MG worship. True, there are live bands, wonderful powerpoint projectors, beautiful people who can sing well, play well, super comfortable seats, but there is still this thing that can only be found in MG worship. It's that in MG, everyone sings. Regardless if you're a Christian or non-Christian, good voice or bad voice, pretty or ugly, tall or short,
everyone SINGS.

And they all SING with their hearts, they all SING as they mean it, and they all SING for GOD. And that's the difference.

In MG, everyone sings and you can feel the song around you, you can feel God's presence, you can feel this "family" feeling.

In many other worships that I've been to, there's no round worship, no "family" feeling, everyone's just singing straight, i sing towards the worship leaders direction, they're singing back at us.

Another thing is that in MG worship, we have special MG songs, special worship songs that somehow only MG people, or MG will sing, not anywhere else. And everyone who sings it, knows the actions, the clapping, the steps that go with it. and you just get this uniformed movement, uniformed praise.

Some examples of MG songs, will be the benediction (Now unto Him who is able to keep....), Bless this School, Little by Little, We're God's family, Chewie (x4) um baba, i've got peace like a river, King of Kings, bottle dance, God is our father....

And somehow only MG girls know how to sing and know how to do the actions.

And there's this other song that was composed by Eleanor Wong, another MG girl, she wrote the song "To MGS", could anyone send me the lyrics or music to me? coz i don't know how to sing the whole song, but it's a great song!

it goes something like "in a special school, where the girls are sweet and heed the golden rule, so behave at your very best, coz you're special, you're from MGS,"

You can go and read steph's blog for the lyrics to "Bless this school".

I'll just put the MG benediction here, and everyone will know how different it is to all the other benedictions in different churches and schools.

Now unto Him who is able to keep
Able to keep you from falling
And present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory
With exceeding joy
To the only wise God our Saviour
Behold Him with majesty
Dominion and power
Both now and forever
Amen

If someone was to ask me, so which one will you like more, MG or AC?

My answer would be MG, because Once a MG girl, always a MG girl, and no one can ever change that!

:)
I forgot to blog about somethings that happened during my last week of holidays, before I start school on 26th July. So i'm going to talk about it here now.

The 1st thing is I went to Victor Harbour on thurs, 22nd July, with the uni people, as part of the orientation programme. Victor Harbour's somewhere south of Adelaide. When I say south, i mean super south. It took us a 2 hours bus ride to get there from the uni. Sat with my japanese friends, Naoko, but didn't get to talk much to her, because she was talking to all her other Japanese friends sitting around her in Japanese, so I made myself content with just watching the scenery of Adelaide.

The bus driver was pretty much a joker too, because he kept on introducing to us what's on the left and right of the bus as he drived us to our destination. Made friends with the guy sitting in front of me, Arnold, he's a Hong Konger. We were commenting on the vineyards and the sheep that the bus passed by.

Reached some national wildlife park in what seemed like ages, saw koala bears having a good time munching eucalyptus leaves (i think it's those leaves) and feeding kangaroos half my size. I was pretty scared that they will box me or something, but they seemed quite tame. Took a few pictures of the feeding and set off for Victor Harbour.

Victor Harbour is a harbour, more like a beach, where there are shops, and scenery. Walked around Granite Island, which is this super big island that took us about 2 hours to get around. Just took pictures of the scenery, it was magnificent, so i will upload photos about it when i know how to.

We then took another 2 hours bus ride back to the uni, was very shagged by then. The bus driver was back to introducing what's on our left and right of the bus as it moved along the hilly trail. Pretty bored by his comments, though we took a different route back. I slept all the way to uni, and my friends had to wake me up when i got there.

I'll blog about the 2nd thing next time, i'm quite tired to type.

it's been a week since i've updated my blog. sorrie to all those bored pple who didn't get to read it for like 10 days, i'll try to update more often.

i just moved into my new room a few days ago with the help of my 3 guy friends. it has an attached bathroom, apparently all the new students get new rooms, which have its own air-conditioner and heater, as well as bathrooms, nice table, bed and cupboards. Thanks be to God for providing me with the attached bathroom, then i don't have to freeze in the winter trying to take a shower. I really wanted my room to be blue, but that was not meant to be... it's a white and red room with a blue carpet.. it makes me feel like a pro-Singaporean, like so patriotic, and i don't really exactly like Singapore all that much when i'm a Hong Konger at birth. so yupz.. but the red and white can have another meaning, hint: think in the Christian sense, you get what i mean, do you? yupz.. so that can be a reminder too to me.

I'm starting to get use to the winter weather now.. though it can get quite cold at night like 1 to 2 degrees celsius. i've made lots of friends so far, about 50 or so, but i've got a huge problem of remembering their names, please pray that i'll be able to remember their names, then they won't feel so bad with someone unable to remember their names.

i met up with steph & mich on sunday. i was wondering how i was going to go to church on sun coz sue slept at 10pm on sat, so i couldn't get her to arrange transport for me. Surprisingly, and by God's grace, takashi arranged it for me, yupz.. so thanks to God again.

hmm.... had a tiring day at uni today, my right hand's aching from all the writing of notes onto paper. yupz.. so i'll update another time, k? still have to go for buddy night tonight, and my buddy's gonna dress me up as i don't know what, it's held at cathedral hotel which is i don't know where, so hope i'll be able to get there safe and sound.

And one more thing, since i've moved to my new room, it's in a total different location where my temporary room is, so i'm so super confused on how to get to places in the hostel, so pray i will find my way around the hostel.

how's everyone back up there in singapore, usa, canada, hong kong?

My mum left me down under alone two days ago, thursday. The airport was so small, ok not as small as Champaign-Urbana in Illinois, USA, but still pretty small, where you can see the airplane from the cafe window. So i actually said something about watching my mum go up the plane using the stairs as there are no extension tubes  where passengers can just walk through to get to the plane, without walking on the ground.

After taking two pictures with my mum, there was this last call for all passengers which is super early, it was like 1 hour before take-off, even more kiasu than Singapore, i thought.

Once i saw my mum turning her back away from me to go into customs and onto the ground to walk to the airplane, up the stairs and get into her seat, i started crying.

The tears just flowed, and as i think about it now, i'm starting to cry again. I cried and cried, used up all my tissue paper, cried on the bus home, cried throughout my lunch, cried after lunch, cried the whole afternoon, cried in the night, cried the whole day.

It was the longest time i've ever cried for someone that i really loved.

And trying not to miss my mum still takes a very long time.

The only other time that i will always cry is
not when i talk to my school friends, church friends, outside friends on the phone,
but it's when i talk to my grandmother, she's so old, and i still have to leave her, this makes me feel so bad, and just hearing her childlike voice over the phone can just bring my whole world down, i'm gonna start crying again..

Please don't call me a crybaby/emotional/mental kid..!!!

It's just the sadness felt..

Oh and i'm using my friend's computer, he just left the room, hope that when he comes back, he doesn't see me crying haha..

gtg now.. May GOD bless each and everyone of you!!!

hey all,

i'm in adelaide now.. the supposed "home" for me for 3 years..

it's pretty cold and cool here, pretty city, beautiful landscapes, cheap fruits and vegetables, free transport, good-looking people, cosy rooms, walkable paths, comfortable sunshine, land of contrast, awesome God's creation. Really beautiful here, you all should come visit some day.

The grass is greener here (literally), the skies are bluer here, the people are more beautiful here, the shops are nicer here, the buildings are quainter here.

The loneliness is felt more here, the "bored" feeling is felt more here, the television channels are lesser here, the newspapers are thinner here.

yupz.. the same place has its pros and cons.. oh well have to get used to it soon.

school's haven't started yet, orientation's on next mon, do pray that i'll be able to find more friends that i can click with, people who share the same faith and interests as me, yupz..

the weather here's between 7 degrees celsius to 16 degrees, but it can get to 4 degrees at night, sun rises at 7:23 am, and sun sets at 5:20pm. yupz super short day.. all times australian, the time difference between australia and singapore is 1 and a half hours. with australia being faster than singapore, my stomach still need lots of taking used to for the mealtimes,

I'll give you all my contact no soon, still don't know which plan i should take for hp and home phone, um..all call-in calls into both my phones are free for me. I'll call out using my pre-paid phone card which my mum has already used half of it for her business calls, can save lots of money when i'm here.. haha.. coz whole day juz eat bread, pasta and chicken wings, sometimes chinese food, like i said in my email to GYM, the food here's cheap, i've got limited time on the computer coz i'm in an internet cafe, i'm quite sure my time should be used up by now, but my mum is out shopping, so she said she'll pay for the extra time that i've used, waiting for her to come back now, bet she went walking around at the central market.. good mum, i thank God for my mum, being so patient and caring and putting up for all the rubbish/trouble i've given her, hehz.. really long post, guess you all know by now i'm a pretty naggy/long-winded person.. If i'm that naggy now, i don't know how it'll be like when i hit 40...

ok gtg now.. too long post, probably cannot publish..

so will update soon, till later, God bless you all!

i'm leaving tmr,
leaving the place i've called "home" for 15 years,
well more like 14 and a half years.

leaving to a place where i'll call "home" for 3 years.

i'm still in the midst of packing, finished packing my winter and spring clothes and toiletries, gotta start packing some books, and all the important documents which i'll leave them last.

Juz wanna thank God for giving me a place in st. ann's residential college, which is the most highly competitive and expensive college in university of adelaide, at least i won't have to worry about my accomodation for this half year.

Thanks for all the prayers that you people prayed (you know who you are) for me.

Just read Daniel's blog, so cool, he actually had a physical healing debate going on in the comments section.
I've read a book on that topic, but somehow i couldn't recall what to say to state my views, not saying that their views are wrong, which shows that i've got to read that book again, half a year later, since i can't bring it with me to adelaide.

It also shows how unsure i am in my Christian faith, how weak i am, (never said i was strong anyway) but oh well,i'll try to grow more in australia hopefully. heh.

1 more day in s'pore, haven't been feeling sad yet.. haven't feel like i'm gonna get homesick and start missing pple and so on.

Yesterday was youth sunday. GYM presented a dance. At first, everyone was so reluctant/sian/boring to even start dancing, but yesterday they were really good! all of them have the potential to be great dancers, we only practised 2 sundays for most of them, and everyone did it on time, on beat, synchronised, it's just great.. but i think they should have sang louder, especially the "HEY" part. :)

Well, definitely something for me to remember in a long time. Will upload the picture before the face painting tmr on the yahoo groups. yupz..

gonna miss you all i hope, friends, christians, family...

God bless everyone of you!!! thank you all for writing and being a part of many great chapters in my life!!!

Till the next time i meet you all, God bless!!!
